I'll have the Private Benjamin, hold the Mayo

I'll have the Private Benjamin, hold the Mayo Network marketing is a very unique and yet also a very misunderstood profession that appeals to all types of people. I'm going to talk about two specific types of people that are at opposite ends of the psychological spectrum, but who make up a considerable portion of participants in this industry. Of these 2 types 1 of them actually does succeed serially, but for entirely different reasons than would be ideal, and in many cases the success is short-lived and destructive in it's result. Then I'm going to talk about a third type of person that these two are transformed into by which they become the type of success that is actually fulfilling for them and has far greater impact for good in the many lives they influence either directly or in most cases indirectly. I love the lessons I learn from watching  a good movie. The character's lives are all about turning points and how they react or respond to them eithe

This isn't the business opportunity you're looking for…MOVE ALONG

This isn't the business opportunity you're looking for… This isn't the business opportunity I'm looking for… Move Along... I loved Star Wars. 43 years ago. I was an imaginative teenager who couldn't get enough of that movie. I probably saw it more than a half of a dozen times at the theater at full price. It was magical. Really! Who stands up and claps at the end of a movie anymore? When the rebels blew up the Death Star, as Luke and Han were speeding away from it, the whole theater erupted into an explosion of applause and whoops and cheers, and no one thought that was weird. What movie have you seen in the last several years where the whole audience stood up and cheered? I'd say one of the best moments of that movie was the Jedi mind trick scene when Obi-Wan manipulated a weak-minded storm-trooper who was loyal to an evil cause, to just let the 2 droids that they were desperately seeking slip through their hard shell gloved fingers. If you n

How To Hit the MLM Lottery Without Even Trying

How To Hit the MLM Lottery Without Even Trying “The difference between a warrior and an ordinary man is that the warrior sees everything as a challenge while an ordinary man sees everything as either a blessing or a curse.” - Don Juan, “Tales of Power” Do you have a BIG chip on your shoulder? But you are struggling in Network Marketing and the solutions aren’t presenting themselves to you? Do you want to prove to your (brother-in-law, sister, cousin, boss, uncle, aunt, mom, or Dad) that you can make it big in network marketing? Do you sense them mocking you and your efforts? Everything that has ever been done couldn't be done at one point in time, until it had been done the first time. If you’ve ever wanted to do something historic in business... I'm building team of a few new front line associates I will personally mentor. I'm ready to attempt something that's never been done in network marketing. Over the last 3 years I decided to go back to the prove

ARE YOU SURE THAT YOU ARE A NETWORK MARKETER?

ARE YOU SURE THAT YOU ARE A NETWORK MARKETER? If you can't tell your friends about your "great" network marketing opportunity, is it really a "great" network marketing opportunity? I'm asking this because I wonder if you think that  strangers are going to believe that your opportunity is so wonderful when you are unwilling to share it with your friends and family. Aren't those the people you want to help with the awesome products and working with you in the business? Wouldn't you rather work with your friends and family? I know I would,  that's why most of my income has been from people I personally sponsored from my own network. I'm reaching out to people who understand the value of network marketing, REAL NETWORK MARKETING. If all you think that you need is some opportunity that is based on raw multiplication, that you can pitch to anyone then you're destined to fail. Most people tend to see through that as a pyramid

WHAT IS... THE PLAN YOU ARE GIVING TO PEOPLE?

WHAT IS... THE PLAN YOU ARE GIVING TO PEOPLE? What is?… Part I YOUR PLAN? Do you even have one that is compelling that brings on new team members? Is it realistic and affordable for the average person to implement and simple enough to duplicate? Or is it wildly complicated, time consuming, financially draining, and technically challenging? Have you seen the new tequila commercial? There's a commercial on TV now by a popular brand of tequila. During the commercial, there's a statistic given that out of every 100,000 people who hate their jobs, only 48 are deciding to walk out. It got me thinking about how people would rather live with dissatisfaction and tolerate something that they actually despise, rather than do what is necessary to change their circumstances in life. Your antenna goes up when you hear them vent about their J-O-B and you automatically think that you have the ideal magic bullet solution to solve their career troubles. So you stumble through y

DID YOU EVER WISH YOU WERE THE FIRST TO KNOW ABOUT SOMETHING?

DID YOU EVER WISH YOU WERE THE FIRST TO KNOW ABOUT SOMETHING? SKILLS=$$$$ PART III Do you understand how powerful the phrase: "Did you ever wish you were the first one to know about something, before everyone else?" Can Be? Because that thought just came to me today on a  prospecting call, and it resulted in an undeniable amount of engagement. In 2 seconds it changed the level of interest of a very nice hard working young lady from mild curiosity into someone that wanted to hear the whole story. Think about it, Google Yahoo Apple Microsoft Twitter Amazon All of these companies started as virtually unknowns in the business world and became Giants! Don't get me wrong, it isn't the same as just "hearing" about something new before everyone else, you have to KNOW  about it, and the only way you can is by careful and deliberate investigation. What if... There was a company in network marketing AS I AM WRITING THIS that has every earmark of that ty

AND NOW A WORD FROM OUR SPONSOR...

AND NOW A WORD FROM OUR SPONSOR... George Orwell said: "During times of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary Act." Anybody who has been in this business as long as I have, knows that there are some things that you just don't say. "Don't tell him that" OR  "They don't need to know that" OR "Wait until they have been in a little bit longer" That is literally how cults operate, they bring you in as a novice, make all these wonderful promises, and then slowly and deliberately reveal how things really are, its the proverbial frog being slowly boiled to death. I know saying companies operate like religious cults isn't politically correct, but speaking the truth in this age is a revolutionary Act and revolutionists usually get shot at by those wanting to defend the status quo. Well I've been down the rabbit hole and it goes pretty deep, and in network marketing there are just things people that ar

Why am I really struggling in MLM?

Why am I really struggling in MLM? "People who want to go somewhere fast in business usually end up going NOWHERE!" Does 4 years to gain your financial independence seem like a long time to work and wait for something you really want now? I, unlike many veterans in this industry, readily acknowledge the staggering MLM failure rate. I don't need to tell you that you're struggling, you already know this. 99% of the people in network marketing are not making money, they are losing money, this is an historically documented reality. But it seems (and this is no joke) that every Network marketer I talk to on the phone tells me their business  "is exploding!!!" I'm not kidding, yesterday I spoke to two women within about 30 minutes of each other who both told me that very same thing:  Their business was exploding! Now I don't know for certain that this is not the case, but I highly doubt it. One woman had a YouTube video and it only had 120 views

WHY ARE WE LOSING GROUND?

WHY ARE WE LOSING GROUND? If people involved in network marketing continue to perpetuate and endorse the same activities that have brought us to this point of such a negative perception in the public's collective consciousness of being a scam and a business based on a mathematical impossibility, then it will only serve to further strengthen the alienation and resistance to this business due to an overabundance of anecdotal negative experiences from those who feel like they have gotten a raw deal. Only because from an objective standpoint they have! If you don't have a clue to what I'm referring, then open your eyes and go on any number of company specific and non specific anti MLM websites. Read the REAL stories of people who have suffered traumatic personal and financial loss. Stories of real life experiences create biases and perceptions, and there are far more MLM horror stories than the rags to riches propaganda which companies and reps like to showc

Over $15 Billion Worth of Box Office Blockbusters THAT WERE NEVER MADE...

Over $15 Billion Worth of Box Office Blockbusters THAT WERE NEVER MADE... Imagine it's 1960 something... Comic book icon Stan Lee decides he doesn't want to “chase” or “convince” Hollywood producers to turn his stories into big budget movies, but instead decides his best course of action to get his characters and stories on film is to take the rising popularity of the “attraction marketing” philosophy to heart. Stan says to himself, "I will set up a website funnel, build my personal brand and watch my movies on the silver screen in a few short years." Poor stupid Stan, he took the  long hard road of dogged persistence. If only he had someone to show him that he can get The Avengers, X-Men, and Guardians of the Galaxy movies made easily and rejection free  by using the proven principles of Attraction Marketing. You know an auto-responder when you see one, and so does everyone else. It’s just a clever way to pester people without believing you actually ar

THEY TRIED TO MAKE ME GO TO REHAB

THEY TRIED TO MAKE ME GO TO REHAB "They tried to make me go to rehab I said, no, no, no”... Amy Winehouse… And most of the program hoppers in network marketing. If you saw a heroin addict on the street would you try to get him to stop using? Or would you just keep walking? They were called “Junkies” for a reason, because they would shoot junk (heroin used to be called junk) into their veins in order to get a quick feeling of euphoria, that usually lasted for a brief period and then they would need another fix. People who jump from one company into another in network marketing or promote more than  one at a time, are called MLM Junkies. They are constantly finding a new dealer (sponsor or program) that all promise them the same elusive thing: "This will solve your problems of not having the success you so richly deserve. But in most cases the magic formula is only an illusion and temporary mind trick." This type of behavior creates a perpetual cycle of joi

NETWORK MARKETING IS A SHIP BUILDING BUSINESS

NETWORK MARKETING IS A SHIP BUILDING BUSINESS Lets just hope that ship you are building or sailing on is not another industry Titanic SKILLS = $$$$ PART IV Network marketing is a shipbuilding business: (relationship, friendship, partnership, mentor-ship, apprenticeship, hardship, craftsmanship, salesmanship, stewardship, entrepreneurship, leadership, sponsorship, and membership) These are the “ships” that revolve primarily around the interactions between people. Website building is not even in the top 10 priorities of this business. Why? Because virtually every failing network marketer in the industry has at least 1. My sponsor has earned over $65 million in this business over the last 26 years. He did it without a website. All of the money that I've made in this business has also pretty much come from just having conversations and listening to people.   I use a website now, but: I don't think it's the most critical component of anyone's success in this typ

JUST FILL OUT THIS APPLICATION AND THE CEO POSITION IS YOURS

JUST FILL OUT THIS APPLICATION AND THE CEO POSITION IS YOURS SKILLS=$$$$ PART II Why on Earth would you put let someone join your business as a partner without ever speaking with them first? Is that wise or even fair to either one of you? Do Fortune 500 companies place an ad in the paper for CEOs and senior vice presidents or corporate officers for 6 & 7 figure annual salaries, and then give them to the first person who walks in and fills out an application? You're only creating disappointment for yourself and the people who join you when you fail to make certain someone is qualified to actually be in business for themselves and with you. I'll give you an example: Someone who joined my team over 2 years ago told me they don't like to read books. I told them flat-out...  If you're not willing to read books on personal growth and business, then this is not for you. After I said this, the person basically begged me to let him join. So I let him join my te

THE TRUTH AND MYTH OF RESIDUAL INCOME IN MLM

SKILLS=$$$$ PART I One of the magic formulas for copy-writing is to ask yourself 3 questions about what you're writing. From the standpoint of the reader. Question number one So what? Question number two: Who cares? Question number three: What's in it for me? Hopefully this post will answer those three questions and give you a clear picture of what I can offer you. This is a blog  about principled network marketing so I think that the business should be the primary centerpiece of the discussion in these posts. So what? This is what? Marketing is about illusion, and many times at the expense of the buyer. Network marketing has devolved into mainly JUST marketing in many so-called opportunities. Funnel based marketing, SEO, traffic strategies and lead generation. All those things have their place in today's global web driven reality. But…. Leadership in this business is about having integrity and serving the needs of others. Mentoring and inspiring people to fulf

IF P.T. BARNUM WERE ALIVE TODAY...

IF P.T. BARNUM WERE ALIVE TODAY... ...HE WOULD PROBABLY BE A NETWORK MARKETING TRAINER! “A reliable way to make people believe in falsehoods is frequent repetition, because familiarity is not easily distinguished from truth. Authoritarian institutions and marketers have always known this fact.” Daniel Kahneman I guess I prefer to be knowledgeable rather than manipulative. This type of attitude in my business approach has probably cost me a great deal over the years but that is just the way I'm hardwired. Being an honest marketer with integrity is becoming more difficult because of the truth contained in the opening quote. When I started my business over 26 years ago there was no such idiom as  "well I read it on the internet, so it must be true" For me network marketing is about the power of building a lasting partnership with whom you are able to speak the truth. I may not be the best marketer in the world, but I think it's because I really don't
